BIOGRAPHY

Joan E. Stein, MSW, ACSW, BCD

Joan Stein is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work with a private practice in Brighton, MI.  She provides individual, couple, and family therapy.  As a community service advocate, Joan  provides free screenings, assessments, and referrals in conjunction with National Screening Days.  She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan and her Master of Interpersonal Communication degree from Eastern Michigan University; both degrees were earned Summa Cum Laude.

Joan is an integrative therapist who weaves a multi-disciplinary approach into her practice.  In addition to her certification as a clinician in Imago Relationship Therapy, Joan is a Level II EMDR practitioner, a certified addictions counselor, and is certified in clinical hypnosis.  Joan is  currently an Imago Workshop Presenter in training. 

She is passionate about her work and commitment to helping couples build and enhance loving relationships.  Her work with individuals, couples, and families is influenced by Imago Relationship Therapy, based on the work of Dr. Harville Hendrix, author of “Getting the Love You Want.”
